Goals for My 29th Year

  • Take my vitamins every day
    • Fail.  Never achieved this goal :(
  • Cast off my aversion to running on land
  • Increase my endurance so that I can run a full loop on the cart trail on my neighborhood golf course with Joey at my side
    • Did it!  Six days after I turned 30... but better late than never :)
  • Participate in the Susan G.  Komen Race for the Cure
    • Woohoo!  28:03 minutes
  • Replace at least six of the eight windows on our second floor
    • Fail.  I think Marty and I have decided to scratch this goal in favor of higher priority projects.... like planning our June WEDDING!
  • Lose five pounds
    • Lost 7
  • Get braces put on
  • Get braces taken off
    • Thank ya, Jesus.  Braces SUCKED!
  • Go snowshoeing at least twice (snow conditions permitting)
    • I did this countless times throughout the season.  Proof here.
  • Maintain the motivation to really “do” my hair no less than once per week
    • I am getting there on this one... got a new cut that seems to be workin'- let's count this as achieved :)
  • Visit Maine or Cape Cod
    • Mart surprised me with a weekend getaway to Cape Cod for my 30th.  I was one day late in achieving this goal, but I achieved it nonetheless!
  • Hike two mountains
    • Does running up and down a Windham Mountain for the Warrior Dash check one off my list?
    • Hiked Giant Mountain, an ADK high peak, in September
  • Get a DSLR camera
  • Begin my own business or obtain a job that will enable me to build a career
  • Pay off at least $4,700 of my student loans
    • Yippee! Surpassed this one :)
  • Get back in touch with an old friend
    • I reconnected with my old college roommate.  With that said, I'd like to add a new goal to my list....
    • Get back in touch with another old friend
      • Done - entered the world of facebook and reconnected with at least ten very important old friends from my past.  Some I will stay in touch with, others I won't... but I can now die knowing I tried!
  • Renovate the basement
    • Finito!
  • Visit Marty’s sister in NYC
  • Try my hand at least one new recipe each month
    • Mart and I joined a local co-op called Field Goods and began trying a new recipe each week with the interesting veggies we get.
  • Capture at least three moments in photographs that make my heart skip a beat
  • Read one book that I absolutely cannot put down
    • It was called Traveling Light - not a great read, but it captivated me nonetheless
  • Grow grass in my backyard that is plush and green and fun to walk on with bare feet
    • Fail.  This has moved way down on the priority list. There seems to be something more satisfying about watching my dog dig the same hole over and over again to bury her old faithful bone in.
